Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers

What are dermal fillers?

As we age, our skin changes and we lose hydration as well as facial fat. Our natural skin elasticity reduces due to the degradation of collagen and our skin becomes more fragile.

Because of these natural skin changes, over time the natural volume of your youthful skin begins to diminish, and wrinkles and folds start to form. The more mobile facial areas are the first to be affected by this natural ageing process. Skin will eventually begin to sag, and “expressive” wrinkles will start to appear, which are more difficult to smooth out.

Dermal fillers are a safe and effective procedure to help smooth out problem areas and tackle signs of skin ageing.

At SkinCraft Aesthetics we offer dermal fillers to improve the appearance of:

  • Smile lines
  • Lip lines
  • Nasolabial folds (nose to mouth lines)
  • A lack of jawline definition and jowl softening
  • Deep folds and wrinkles

What are lip fillers?

There are a range of dermal fillers but lip fillers are specifically designed to inject into the lip top lump, reshape and enhance them. Lip fillers are made to give a more natural and subtle finish.

What is Hyaluronic Acid (HA)?

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural according substance that is produced by the body. It transfers essential nutrients from the bloodstream to the skin cells, while bringing in hydration and adding volume to the skin.

FAQs

What is dermal filler?

A soft tissue filler injected into the skin to fill facial wrinkles and addfacial volume and augment features restoring fuller, smoother appearance. Fillers aretemporary and are eventually absorbed by the body

How does it work?

As we age the body stops producing collagen and elastin which areproteins which work together to keep the skin elastic and the tissue firm, without these thebody starts to show signs of ageing. Dermal fillers lift and volumize the skin leaving itsmoother, more contoured and youthful.

How long does it last?

The results vary from several months to over a year, research showsthat repeated injections may help to stimulate the body’s own natural production of collagen.
